This week we will be continuing with the next Beth Moore session so bring your books and pens and come ready to study God's word! Tulips are providing snack. March 6 we will have a day to spend some extra time in worship and with our small groups so let your small group leader know if there are any topics you would like to revisit from previous sessions. And don't forget to mark your calendars for our two March events. We will be having our Spring brunch potluck on March 20, so everyone bring a dish to share. We are going with a "Birthday Party" theme so make sure you come ready to get festive! March 30-31 is our Women's Spring Conference. There are 50 available slots and the cost is only $30, which includes catered meals and childcare. It's a great time to refresh and refocus with the word of God so register now! Scholarships are available so please see a board member if you are in need. More info and details on the conference to come! Hope to see you all tomorrow. God bless!

Esther Study Ongoing

We were glad to see so many faces at our first Esther lesson (despite the power outage!) If you missed it please jump back in with lesson two on January 24 from 9-11 AM. The Sunflower group will be bringing snacks this week. We are trying to economize our time with the longer Beth Moore lessons, so in order to leave enough time for small group we will be starting promptly at 9 AM. The child care is open at 8:45 AM so you can get your little ones signed in early! And just a reminder that all kids should be picked up no later than 11:15 AM. What a fabulous time we had at the DSO event yesterday! Twenty-seven ladies packed and delivered packages for deployed spouses all over our community. It was a wonderful chance to share God's love with these ladies. Thank you all for you help. If you missed it we have another on in December and it is never to early to see Ave and get involved.
This week we are reading chapter 5 and 6. The group responsible for snack is the Rose group. Please use back doors as there will be another group meeting in the sanctuary on Tuesday. Don't forget to begin collecting items for Operation Christmas Child. Can't wait to worship with all of you on Tuesday morning

OUR FIRST DEPLOYED SPOUSES OUTREACH OF THE YEAR IS HERE!!!!
We are so excited to see how God is going to use us to share His love with the women of our community!

There are several ways you can be involved with this ministry:

1. Prepare baked goods for the baskets. We are asking for 1-2 dozen muffins, cookies, brownies, or a loaf of fall type items (for example...things containing cinnamon, pumpkin, apples, or things decorated for fall). Please place each dozen in a separate zip lock bag or disposable container of some sort. You may drop off baked items at the Chapel @9am on the morning of delivery.
2. Help pack and deliver the gifts on Tuesday, October 11th at 9 in the East Wing (childcare is provided)
3. Pray for those women who will be receiving the gifts. We want the families to know that God loves them and we are praying for them.
4. You may also wish to help support this ministry and future DSO events. Please see Ave about if you are interested in helping financially with the next event.

We will be discussing the 4th Chapter of the book Captivating Tuesday, October 4th.

Fall Kick-Off Brunch!

During the brunch we will introduce you to the study that we will be doing on the Tuesdays to follow. The Study is by Beth Moore and is called Living Beyond Yourself: Exploring the Fruit of the Spirit.

In the left column near the bottom of the site, you will find the documents needed for childcare. If possible, print these and have them filled out before dropping your child off at the East Wing of the Chapel. These documents will be available at the meeting, but it will save time to have them filled out beforehand. Thank you!

While it is the season for giving thanks (due to the conclusion of our year), we would like to remember those of you who have faithfully served "behind the scenes". A Challenge to Demonstrate God's Love

Stepping into God’s Excellence of Love

What is it God asks of us in regard to love?

1 Corinthians 13 (NASB)
If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part; but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.
When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.
But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love.

What does this mean?

Paul was giving evidence of the Corinthian’s lack of love, so he has to define what love truly is. “This kind of love goes against our natural inclinations. It is possible to practice this love only if God helps us set aside our own desires and instincts, so that we can give love while expecting nothing in return. Thus the more we become like Christ, the more love we will show to others. Paul offers a glimpse into the future to give us hope that one day we will be complete when we see God face to face. This truth should strengthen our faith- we don’t have all the answers now, but one day we will. Someday we will see Christ in person and be able to see God’s perspective.
In morally corrupt Corinth, love had become a mixed-up term with little meaning. Today people are still confused about love. Love is the greatest of all human qualities, and it is an attribute of God himself (1 John 4:8). Love involves unselfish service to others; to show it gives evidence that you care. Faith is the foundation and content of God’s message; hope is the attitude and focus; love is the action. When faith and hope are in line, you are free to love completely because you understand how God loves.”

Our Spring Study is quickly coming to a close and a fabulous study it has proven to be! I have heard on several occasions that our teaching and discussion times have been invaluable to many women. A great deal of thanks, to each of you in attendance, for helping to make CWF a safe haven for us all.
Next Tuesday we will be looking at lies we believe about circumstances. This is a great week to reference back to our Fall Study on Balanced Living! Concluding the study the following week, we will be challenged to "Consider Lies with the Truth."

Yesterday we discussed some of the lies women are deceived into believing about children. Isn't it wonderfully reassuring to know that ALL children are a blessing and are precious in the eyes of our Holy Lord? It is not only a privilege, but a pleasure to work along side Christ in shaping disciples for His kingdom and for His glory.

Thank you, ladies, for a wonderful time of learning and growing with one another.

Next Tuesday, April 20th, we'll be listening to Nancy Leigh DeMoss as she delves further into God's Truth and we will also be discussing Lies Women Believe about Emotions.

It's getting to be that time of year again, the PCS season!
Several of our Board Members will be moving this summer and that means most Board positions will be open.
If you are interested in serving on our Board, please consider and pray about the following positions:
President, Vice President, Secretary, Historian, Hospitality Chair, Deployed Spouse Outreach Chair and Publicity Chair.

God has been faithful to this ministry and will continue to be faithful! To make the transition easier for the incoming Board we have Fall Publicity that will be easily marketed, a Fall Study that is sure to be a fabulous opportunity for spiritual growth and several ministries that need willing leaders to simply improve upon what is currently in place! DSO- Delivery Event

A Great BIG Thank You for all who helped with our Deployed Spouse Outreach- Valentine's Pizza Delivery Event yesterday. Over 65 meals were delivered to wives of deployed spouses. Our DSO events have grown from reaching out to 25 women to nearly 70 women. None of it would be possible without the interest, support and hard work of all of you. We thank you so much for reaching out and sharing God's love with fellow military wives.

We would also like to thank our Religious Ministries Directorate Program, local Commissary, Stater Brothers and generous donors.

May God bless you and may He give special blessings to those who received the deliveries.

Praying For and Encouraging One Another

As we are doing our study this week, please remember to lift one another up in prayer! It is often easy to get discouraged and to feel a tremendous guilt when being convicted by the Holy Spirit. But take heart!! We are to be encouraged, for we have our hope of salvation, and not dwell upon our past mistakes, but to learn from them and move ahead. When we ask the Lord for forgiveness, His is faithful to forgive- He wipes the slate clean and our sins are made white as snow. HAPPY DAY!

To encourage you in your walk, here are the Scripture I shared with you on Tuesday:

James 1:21-27
(vs. 22- But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.)

Galatians 5:19-23
(vs. 22- But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control; against such things there is no law.)

Psalm 103:1-6
(vs. 2- Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits.)

Ephesians 6:10-24

The Roman Road

Many have asked about the scripture references for this time of sharing, so we wanted to provide it for you here on the blog.

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
We all have sin in our hearts. We all were born with sin.

Romans 6:23a "...The wages of sin is death..."
Sin has an ending. It results in death. We all face physical death, which is a result of sin. But a worse death is spiritual death that alienates us from God, and will last for all eternity.

Romans 6:23b "...But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
Salvation is a free gift from God to you! You can't
earn this gift, but you must reach out and receive it.

Romans 5:8, "God demonstrates His own love for us, in
that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us!"
When Jesus died on the cross He paid sin's penalty. He paid the price for all sin, and when He took all the sins of the world on Himself on the cross, He bought us out of slavery to sin and death! The only condition is that we believe in Him and what He has done for us, understanding that we are now joined with Him, and that He is our life. He did all this because He loved us and gave Himself for us!
- Give your life to God... His love poured out in Jesus on the cross is your only hope to have forgiveness and change. His love bought you out of being a slave to sin. His love is what saves you -- not religion, or church membership. God loves you!

Romans 10:13 "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved!"

Romans 10:9,10 "...If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation."

Jesus said,
Revelation 3:20a "Behold I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him..."

By Admitting that we are sinners, Believing that Jesus died for our sins and rose again, and Confessing that Jesus is Lord, we may have a wonderful, eternal life and relationship with Him.

Spring Study: Lies Women Believe and the Truth That Sets Them Free

This semester we will be diving into this vibrant, ten part study!

the book.
One of our goals at CWF, is to encourage you, and equip you, in your walk with the Lord.
The most important book that we will be reading during this study is...The Bible, God's Word. We will provide these two other resources, but they are simply the outline by which we are studying Scripture.
We encourage you to bring the following items with you to the study: a Bible, a notebook, your study guides (that you will receive on the 19th), and a pen.

Wrapping Up Our Fall Study

Jesus says, "Come, follow Me..."

I can hardly believe our Fall Study has come to it's conclusion. What a privilege it has been to learn, share and grow together, in the Lord. We have so much to be thankful for and excited about. While not every study will be all things to all people we can certainly attest to the fact that "you will get out of it what you put into it"! I love how we were: encouraged to let go of superficial and unnecessary expectations of ourselves and others, urged not live for the approval of men, challenged to continually check our motivations, called to live for the Lord (moment by moment).

Two wonderful "take aways" from this study were summed up in the last chapter:

"We have learned that a life of balance requires us to surrender to God's sovereignty in our placement, our position and life's pressures. Although we were created for perfection, we live in an imperfect world. Our only hope of finding true and lasting fulfillment is in our relationship with God."
"When we walk with God, we will be able to appreciate the little things of life again. Much like children, we will be able to see the sacred in the mundane. We will find the extraordinary in the ordinary. God has a way of permeating our everyday lives when invited to do so."

I am so thankful that we serve a God who knows us, provides for us and loves us, just as we are.
This God of the Bible, the God of the universe, is the God who created you. He simply desires a personal relationship with you. As we encourage one another to place God as our priority, let us strive together to live in the "now". May we not run ahead, nor lag behind, but instead try to keep in step with our Heavenly Father.
Let us follow our Lord, through the narrow gate and onward toward the upward call!

Special thanks to all of you girls who participated in the DSO event. Families received a lasagna dinner, salad, french bread and brownies; toys were even included for small children. All items were packaged in these wonderful reusable grocery bags! We have heard nothing but words of gratitude and appreciation! What a blessing it is to be able to share the love of Christ in such a practical way. Please keep these women and families in your prayers.
